With the news of Heihachi's apparent demise, Jinpachi takes over the Mishima Zaibatsu from behind the scenes and organizes the fifth King of Iron Fist Tournament in the hopes that someone will free him before the spirit takes him over completely, to the point that he writes to his old friend Wang, asking him to compete and put an end to the Mishima bloodline, which has been cursed by Heihachi's greedy ambitions.Īt the tournament's finale, Jinpachi is confronted by his great-grandson, Jin Kazama, who defeats him and puts him to rest at last. Having been taken over by a vengeful spirit and granted incredible supernatural powers, Jinpachi breaks out of Hon-Maru when the compound is destroyed during a battle between Heihachi, Kazuya and an army of Jack-4's sent to kill Kazuya. Despite his warnings, in the first game, it is stated that Wang only had suspicions about Heihachi's true conduct, but in the second game, he is already seeking a successor to bring back honor to the Mishima Zaibatsu. In Wang's backstory, it is stated that Jinpachi had already been long dead before the first game, but it is implied that before he died, Jinpachi knew that the Mishima line would be doomed someday, and warned Wang about this. In addition to this, Jinpachi's grave can be seen in Wang's ending in the second game. Jinpachi does not appear but he is mentioned in Wang's backstory in both games. He fights barefoot and topless, although he does wear jewelry, mainly gold bands around his wrists, upper arms and ankles, as well as an ornate gold necklace. Jinpachi mainly wears clothes and tattered pants on his lower body, with a large metal sash decorated with white ribbons fastened around his waist. When Jinpachi is under the possession of the spirit, his eyes glow yellow and a large fanged mouth opens in his abdomen. Unlike most Mishimas, Jinpachi was a man of honor, harmony and wisdom, a friend of Wang Jinrei, and one of few to show compassion to his grandson Kazuya when the latter was a child. Sometime later, he died of starvation, until he was later animated by a demonic entity. Jinpachi attempted to retake the company from Heihachi, but failed and was imprisoned by him beneath the Mishima family temple, Hon-Maru. However, Jinpachi's life took a turn for the worse when the bitter Heihachi staged a coup and stole the company from him. Unlike most of the Mishimas, Jinpachi is an honorable fighter with a strong sense of wisdom. ![]() ![]() He instead resolved to devote his family's legacy solely to martial arts. After the war, he regretted the company's direction, and it is stated that he abhorred needless conflict. He expanded the corporation into an industrial empire by capitalising on military demand during World War 2. Jinpachi is the father of Heihachi Mishima and the founder of the Mishima Zaibatsu. ![]()
